There are multiple ways to unlock both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, the following steps will be for the Xbox 360 version only. Once you have completed all steps with the exception of the one below, I will cover the PS3 in a future article.

1. PLAY!Go to the multiplayer section and play with online friends. Obviously, in all honesty, with the GTA games, you can play online with anyone that also plays the same game. Only gameplay will determine who is a friend and who is not. If someone is online and you don't know them, you cannot play with them online. You must create a Public match and play that.Step 2: Save 50% when you purchase the game using a pre-owned code at an electronic retailer, such as Best Buy, GameStop, etc, or buy the game for a game retailer such as Amazon. Just be sure to turn online activation off in your Xbox 360 Settings, if you are using a new Xbox 360.

The following are the steps for PS3 and PC, if you haven't already unlocked your PS3 version, you can simply check out my article on how to do it. Apparently, it is a similar process for the PC. The following are the steps for PS3:
