If you buy the 2015 Acronis True Image complete system, and follow the instructions to install on a USB thumb drive, then you will automatically get an image of the operating system ready to go.
Setup & License keys are provided, I used exactly as they provided and it worked! I loved being able to boot the full version of the software straight off the thumb drive instead of blindly installing it from the DVD. The only thing I would recommend is if you are planning to do the activation by phone, take the DVD with you, just in case.
If the live version doesn't work for you, try the full version (yes, I didn't think it would either so I just went for a full 30 day trial). it might take an hour to set up, but once it's all set up, you can boot from the USB thumb drive on your machine and it will be ready to go. You will be able to delete or modify the image at any time.
I can boot Acronis on a UEFI BIOS, but I would prefer to use UEFI. I” m a CRITICAL SOURCE WAN when it comes to backing up and restore, I need to be able do a restore, can you help me making it boot with UEFI?
I'm trying to get this to work properly on a recent MacBook. The boot CD is booting on a controller other than the one listed on the BIOS. I can see the boot menu but it will not allow me to go further. Thanks for any suggestions.
Are you familiar with Windows PE? There is an option of "Create a Bootable USB Drive from Windows PE" off the "Startup" menu. But my [obscure] hard drive is broken. I have a working DVD burner but it wont work with that. Even if I had an older Mac I don't think I could get it installed and running. Is it possible to Run Windows PE or Mac OS X installer using Acronis True Image 2015? d2c66b5586
